Modern Age Ophelia

Modern Age Ophelia is a fusion of contemporary jazz, folk, pop, and groove styles mixed with impressionistic lyrics, spoken word poetry, and improvisation. This work explores the beautiful landscape of characters with the hope they have the freedom to grow and flourish on their terms. The peculiar power of superstition and dreamlike reality is a theme throughout the songs, connecting to the Icelandic pagan heritage.
The atmosphere is feminine and often vulnerable, and Anna mainly uses her ethereal voice colors. The title relates to questions of what female truths in the past and present were and are dismissed as illogical and insane, being stuck in a wasteland somewhere in between without the vocabulary to describe your truth.
